This Virgil Flowers book from 2012, available in paperback, is about a bunch of murders by three young people. It all starts off with a robbery gone bad. Then a victim resists and is killed. Then the getaway is botched as the car won't start and another victim is added to the list. And two more. And one more. Etc. Flowers is called in as the locals aren't making much progress. The sheriff is out for blood and there is plenty of that. The story weaves in and out around the various parties and the geography and this is another fine Sandford book that makes you want to not take a break in reading.
The good guys and the bad guys can get a bit blurred.
Well worth reading for entertainment. A lot of victims, though.

I find much of the dialog funny. The manipulations of suspects are handled well. The crimes aren't any more fun than real ones.
