Decided to keep my quest going for a buck with a pistol this year by adding another long slide 10mm. The 2 that have caught my interest are the Les Baer Premier II 6" 10mm Hunter and the Ed Brown LS10.
The Ed Brown cost more, but since it comes with a Trijicon RMR sight already installed, the price difference is less significant than first appears.
Any 'Fire members have experience with these pistols? Or opinions on the makers either way?

I currently own an Ed Brown Kobra Carry in .45 ACP. Love the gun, but not the maker so much. Had some reliability issues early on, which he would not rectify, and finally the extractor simply broke, revealing the source of the reliability issue. Not wishing to deal with the hot head again, I simply learned how to tune a 1911 extractor, bought one, and installed it. It's worked perfectly ever since, and that was almost twenty years ago (damn time flies).
I've also owned a Les Baer SRP, and it was excellent from the start. Only sold it because I didn't need both, and the Ed Brown was a Commander size, while the Les Baer was Government size. I figured, if I was going to carry one, it would more likely be the Ed Brown.
Hope that helps.

I would buy CZ and get the same for less $$$. I owned a a Bear and though fine I could not see the premium over a CZ. I know nothing of Ed Brown other than a few bitter videos...

Les Baer. Best bang for your buck in any custom 1911. Most accurate too.

I know an undercover cop in a city near me who carries a Les Baer in a banded ankle/calf holster. He's a big dude, and can do that.
Tells me a lot about how he feels on Baer's dependability.

For that money, I'd look at Wilson Combat and Nighthawk.
Bout the same price, and the service is 100x better, should you need it.

Thanks for your input fellas. I kind of went against the campfire grain here, or so it seems, and bought an Ed Brown LS10.
I'll be in St Louis this upcoming week for a conference and decided to rent a car and drive home, versus flying, so I can swing by a Missouri gun store off I-70 which has a gently used Les Baer Premier II in stock.
If they make the price right, and I like the feel, it may come home too.

Let us know which you prefer if you get both. Someday I hope to do the same thing just because I think it would be really fun. My money is on Baer.

I've owned both of those makers and prefer Les Baer....especially for the money.
But EdM makes a great point. Wesson makes great pistols, and I believe they have a long slide 10mm for less money and great quality.

Yeah, you and EdM are both right, Dan Wesson does. I went ahead and picked up a long slide bronze Bruin too. I'll be back in town middle of next week and will get some time to hit my range and let you guys know my thoughts between the Bruin and LS10.
