Who do you all get your from. 2+ hr drive to the local Home Depot type stores. Ace hardware in town doesn't carry the type I need, Ryobi. Tools are still functional so I'm not looking to change brands to Milwaukee, DeWalt etc...................yet. This last set of new style, Li ion units, didn't seem to last very long compared to my old NiCad. If another set does the same I may be asking for Christmas presents.
Batteries Plus online? HD online?
any suggestions are welcome, except to buy new tools.
I'll check back tomorrow, the TV is mine now.

Many battery packs can be rebuilt with new rechargeable cells. Not hard to do.

I got to Tri State Batteries and for 1/2 price and exchange of the old battery, they sell a rebuilt one that is better than the new batteries. For $80 I get 2 rebuilt batteries for my Dewalt.

Search youtube - you use a 9volt battery to jump the old battery off - weird - but comments say the trick got their batteries going again .

Yup! I'll give two pieces of advice for buying cordless tools and batteries off of ebay. #1: Always check the serial# or date code on the tool or battery you're buying so you don't buy VOS (very old stock) batteries. If the seller doesn't have the picture on the auction then request it, if the seller refuses move on to the next best deal. #2: Only buy the name brand batteries, off brand are often a great deal but they are often hit and miss for quality.

I don't understand why. They must be cheap batteries.

I had two good drills and no batteries. It has been a winner. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-0AH-9-6V...38344-4-2-192595-8-192638-6/283088892532I looked for a seller that had several sells with good reviews

On a related topic, I have had more problems with the chargers crapping out than the batteries doing so.

If one purchases a $99 package and expects the tool, charger, and battery to be top grade, they're in for a rude awakening.

I shop Amazon and EBay for the best deal on replacements with the best amp hour rating. They have all been after market brands and I have never had a problem with them.

I don't understand why. They must be cheap batteries. Factory batteries from Home Depot, and the new charging unit for the Li-ion batteries. Old NiCad ones were compatible with the new charger, but not vice-versa. Geno
