I was listening to Rush on a San Francisco station the other day and there was a relocation service advertising that would find you a place in Idaho. They were touting the tax advantage and lower cost of living.

Its a demographics problem created by modern society moving into later stages of development and the ramifications of it, with socialism being the end result.

Californians ruining Idaho? Back in the day it was "Texans ruining Colorado"," New Yorkers" ruining Florida. You can probably find Kentuckians complaining about Floridians screwing up their state.

Conservative means different things to different people I guess. I do not know a single conservative Californian that has moved to AK, aside from 458Lott. I do know many that have moved here from CA. And that is judging them on the loose AK definitions....

We've traveled down to Boise every Summer on business for the last ten years. We used to look forward to it.

After our last visit there in July, the wife and I agreed, 'no mas.' We're done. The place is a shadow of its former self and we won't return.

I live fifty miles north west of Boise. I vividly remember the first time I came over the hill on the freeway to enter Boise. It was the fourth grade field trip to see the Capitol Building, State Historical Museum, and Boise Zoo.

The sign along the freeway read "Entering Boise Population 35,000" Wow, the BIG City.

We could get two deer tags each, and an elk tag. Tags were good for anything with hair. Seasons lasted for several weeks. Deer and elk seasons overlapped, deer season was through the rut. And we had no observable wolf predation in the state. Dad bought 300 acres of ground on which he was able to run 100 cows, and my brother and I could burn up a couple boxes of twenty gauge shells each day pheasant hunting, for $12,000

Then the Cali invasion started about the time I graduated HS in 1974.

Though, I suppose we can not entirely blame the wolves on the Cali imports.

On the few occassions that I go to Boise I feel as though I am in a whole different state, Boise has reached the point to where it is hard to tell from California. It is hard to fault Boiseans for their attitude, a generation ago growing up in Boise meant having a nice place to live comfortably on local wages now your dream is all gone due to the infulx of out-of-staters - it is no wonder there is a negative attitude about Californias since they are the main influx group. What passes as a conservative California would be a flaming Liberal in my part of Idaho but even here there are more of them, there seems to be more and more of them arriving every month.

Both sets of my grandparents (long deceased) were Dust Bowl Okies that came to California for work. Back in the day when being called an Okie was an insult . My parents came here as children much like The Grapes of Wrath. Dad from Muskogee, Mom from Okmulgee.

They met and married and made a new life in California.

Isn't it ironic that now they'd be considered fugking Californians if they moved to your state?

For what it's worth, gentlemen, it's not Californians that are invading your state and changing your politics, it's the forced demographics. Look at Virginia. Texas will be blue soon. Somalis in Twin Falls? huh? and Maine?
