Per night, or total night, and daytime naps.

When I was much younger, I needed the sleep, but got a lot less than it takes now.

Seems to depend on how miserable I am.

I bet I get 4 to 6 hours a night.

Hate to admit it....but my best sleep starts at 6:15.
.
Wife gets up at that time. Its at that point I know that all the kids survived the night.

I sleep like a dead person for 20 to 30 mins.

A lot more than I needed at 21!

Under 6.5 hours I am volatile.

Agreed...........but 5 hours seems to be a good compromise.

I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to sleeping at night again.

7.5.

I get just over six. My work week is up at 0300. Drive to work by 0430. On the street until 1300. On the road again a half hour later. Two hours to three hours on a congested freeway until I stagger home. I check on the kids and nose dive for a ten minute nap. Then its up to maintain the household which means I make sure the eight year old and eleven year old are doing their homework or at least not selling each other n the dark web.

On weekends I pass out for several ten minute naps. Fear motivates me. I fear I may never get out of California. I hoped to get out this summer but an equally exhausted construction worker totaled my commuter car in stop and go traffic. I now have my own pickup and five more years of car payments.

But the political climate here is so toxic over a hundred of my co-workers are applying elsewhere. A recent poll revealed the three out of ten San Franciscans want to leave their fair city. I think they will move near to Austin.

I get 6 to 7 hrs per night. Up at 5 every workday. Naps when I can, always on Sundays but did get a 2hr nap yesterday after to morning bird hunt.

I need about six hours, but I would like to get seven. I rarely get what I want but I usually get what I need.

My trouble is I wake so early, sometimes I get back to sleep, not nearly enough though.

Back in my driving days,
3, could function, not well.
4, ok, sort of.
5 good
6, wow, sleeping my life away.

Was known to stop, set an alarm, and sleep 15 min.

Today, under 6 and I feel like I'm going to die.
The tired actually hurts. Must be old age.

I would never be able to drive long haul anymore.

It seems as if I was in sleep deprivation from 1969 until 1997, largely self imposed. Now I need 6 but enjoy 8 hrs./night. Sleep when you want/need it, is the ultimate luxury when you have been w/out.

I work some difficult shifts. And have a young family.

There are times I've gone 60+ hours with less than 6 hours of sleep.

It's not enjoyable or healthy. But I can function. And pretty well.

Ideally, I like 8 hours. And when the time is available I can usually lay down and sleep 8 hours. It feels wonderful.

Then there's days I'm living on twenty minute naps
