I feel best with 7 to 7.5 hrs a night but 5 to 6 hrs is more likely. It doesn't hurt as bad now that I'm retired, it was difficult when I had to work 10 hrs a day...

4 hours continously is enough, I get so flipping sore I gotta get up. Wrecks have a lingering effect.

I work some difficult shifts. And have a young family.
There are times I've gone 60+ hours with less than 6 hours of sleep.
It's not enjoyable or healthy. But I can function. And pretty well.
Ideally, I like 8 hours. And when the time is available I can usually lay down and sleep 8 hours. It feels wonderful.
Then there's days I'm living on twenty minute naps
-Jake I work swing shifts and am in the same boat. Getting a CPAP machine was a game changer for me. I try to get 8 hours, but if I only get 4 I still feel rested.

I just did my sleep study past week. Should get my results in a week or so..
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

I subscribe to what Ben Franklin said: "Early to bed, and early to rise, etc." My general routine is in bed at 10:00 pm and up at 5-5:30 am. During the winter months when farm work slows down, I catch a 15-20 minute power nap after lunch or mid afternoon. Ahhhhh, life is good.

Agreed...........but 5 hours seems to be a good compromise. I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to sleeping at night again. George Becoming a day walker takes time. I think you’ll like it when you adjust. I’ve bounced from nights to days back to nights this year. Been a tough road.

I sleep from 9:30 till 4:00. I feel the best with this. Earlier and I still sleep till 4 and I am sore on top of it. Any time past 10:00 and I feel behind the next day.

5-6 hours.
Love it when I can go 8+. It’s a rarity unfortunately.

I can live on 6, especially if I can stay in a routine and go to bed/get up at the same time. But 7 hours is better.

I learned while in the military I’m not a night guy.....
Pulling watch, and trying to sleep during the day light hours was a no-go.
I dont sleep during the day
I’m good with 3-6 hours

4.5 to 5.5 gets in done when I'm working. Been off for 6 months after shoulder surgery, have been sleeping bout 8 hrs nightly. Return to work 12/2 and will go back to 4.5 to 5.5 nightly for another year or so . Couple years ago started waking up 40 minutes earlier to get a 30 minute work out in before starting my work day and am better for it.

Seems to depend on how miserable I am.
I bet I get 4 to 6 hours a night.
Hate to admit it....but my best sleep starts at 6:15. . Wife gets up at that time. Its at that point I know that all the kids survived the night.
I sleep like a dead person for 20 to 30 mins.
Bingo and I am retired...

When in my 20 's and 30's - 8 hours. Now, in my 60's - if I get 7, I'm thrilled.
Couple of years ago. "The Warden" was fighting cancer, again - I wasn't getting even 5 hours of continuous sleep a night. Wound up going to sleep at the wheel, coming back from the place, and turned over a trailer and farm tractor!
THANK GOD - the only casualties were the trailer, pickup bed, and Johnnie (Deere)!

I do best if I get at least 4 hours sleep per day. Or night. My schedule varies, and so does my down time.
I guess that I'm lucky in that I can sleep about anywhere and anytime
If at home nights, and undisturbed, I can easily do 7-8 hours. Don't be in the bathroom when I get up...
