I like the stuff a lot as a great copper remover however it’s getting harder to find locally. Have any of you tried a competitor that you were pleased with? Specifically looking for a foaming cleaning agent I can spray in and let sit just like I do with Wipe Out.

I'm currently using Gunslick because that was what was on the shelf when I needed it - no complaints.

444,
In a word, no.
Boretech copper is more effective without foam.

I really like Wipe Out too. I also have Thompson Center T17 that I use for cleaning my muzzle loaders. It looks exactly like Wipe Out and I wonder if it is the same stuff under a different brand name. I have not tried it on copper fouling yet.

Montana Extreme seems to work better for me. Less messy too, if really stinky. I never managed the knack of controlling that foam.

Old used rifles that need a really good dosing get good ol' JB eventually, but not as a routine thing.

I’m amazed people still go to stores, other than the grocery store.

I've tried many of them. Regular Wipe Out (non-foaming) and Accelerator work faster than the others, including Montana Extreme, and Montana Extreme is a good one.

I buy my guns 100% online, these days I try to buy my solvents and other shooting nick knacks from the local mom and pop that I use for my ffl transfers. Every little bit helps them out and eases my conscience.

Looks like Vista Outdoors, the company that owns Hoppes and Gunslick, have discontinued the Gunslick Foaming Bore cleaner in favor of the Hoppes Foaming Bore Cleaner. I guess I will have to try that because I like Gunslick. The reason I don't use Wipe-Out is that the tube applicator costs extra and it tends to leak. Gunslick and Hoppes have the tube attached.

Buy tubing at a hardware store for pennies a foot. It works better than the flimsy ones included.

With all due respect Sir, I disagree.

I kept buying all the Kool cleaners mentioned here, always disappointed in some way or another,

Wipeout is that good, that easy....A bit of a learning curve, then good to go.

Good reason! The only stores around me that get stuff like Wipeout are big box stores. I appreciate the mom and pop places too.

I tried some of that once and found it did a very poor job of removing any type of fouling.

Interesting - I did recently notice that Gunslick was not on the shelf whereas Wipeout was. Opposite of when I last stocked up...

With Gunslick apparently gone, I think I'll grab some Wipeout and do a sxs comparison...

I guess we will agree to disagree.
1000 Benchrest Silhouette. 6.5x47 lapua. Two Bartliens and two kerigers.75 to 85 rounds a match...seven matches a summer plus test and tune...
Fed a steady diet of the wipeout patchout product. With the accelerator.
We had a imbedded carbon/copper fouling that the stuff would not touch.
Accuracy fell off big time.
Everyone I shoot against has abandoned it.

I use a mcDonalds straw and stick it into the chamber... works perfectly

Hadn’t tried the Mickey D straw. I’ve been using 1/4” fuel line. Clean from the breech and push it tight against the chamber so there’s nothing going into the mag.

Kinda takes the fun out of cleaning, so simple it’s stupid.
