I use 68.5 grains of R26 with the 160 accubonds and cci 250. getting right about 3020

Whatever you do if you use RL 26 buy a bunch of the same lot---if you can find it. Worked up a load fro my 6.5 PRC and the next lot blew a primer and rocketed the 143 ELDX at 3170 fps!!!! The previous lot was giving me 3030 fps and under 1/2" at 100 yards. Lot to lot variation is terrible at least in my experience. I went back to RL 25.

When I found RE 26, I bought 10 lb and now it seems few writers want to write about it???

150 ttsx over 67.0 gr of RL26 gave me 3170 FPS and the best group of anything I’ve tried out my 26” Boone &Crocket 700 Remington

Bump to the top for some new RL26 info. I loaded up 3 each of 66.5, 67, 67.5 and 68gr behind a 160 NAB. W-W Super brass and Fed 215 primers. See where I’ll be. I’m expecting 2950-3000 or close. Tried H1000 yesterday and my rifle wouldn’t shoot these under 1”. Tried H1000 and 180 Scenars and same result, 1” no better. . RL26 and 180 Scenars shoot consistently at 1/2” or better with 66gr RL26 at 2940fps.

I had same result with 1 - 7 mag vrs another same bullet with both 180 Berger. 1 liked H1000 other no better than an 1"" with H1000 untill I switched to RL26.
Don't be afraid to try different primers also.

My favorite load in my 7mm RM's

7 mm RM, 700 BDL, 140 grain, Nosler PT, 72 grains RE 26, 0.38 MOA
7 mm RM, 77 Tang, 140 grain Nosler PT, 72 grains RE 26, 0.66 MOA

Here we go these loads are hot in my Vanguard 7mm Mag Reduce before you try.

1. RL23 66gr 160gr Accubond 215M primer Hornady case3.300 OAL 3070 FPS SD 8.2 Most accurate of bunch.

2. RL26 68.5gr 160gr TBBT 215M Hornady case 3128 FPS SD 11.3 3,300 OAL a little less accurate in my rifles.

3 Norma MRP 67gr 160gr TBBT 215M Hornady Case 3.290 OAL 3078 FPS SD13.5 Very Accurate.

4 MagPro 70.5gr 160gr TBBT Hornady case 3.290 OAL 3004 FPS SD 4.7 Very accurate My old Model 70 super grade likes this load, don,t know

H1000 gave 3057 FPS and Retumbo gave 3070 FPS Both accurate.

All these loads a HOT back off to start. Got my Moose with the H1000 and the TBBT, complete penatration at 240 yards but used my Vanguard. with 2X10X42 Zeiss Conquest HD4.

In earlier post I was using different components. That Retumbo load was with a old model 70 with 3000 Rounds thru it.

Reloader 26 works great in the 7mag.I really like the 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tip for deer.It really puts them down quick.The 160gr Accubond is a good bullet too,but being bonded,it tends to have just a little smaller wound channel than the Ballistic Tip.I've got 100% exits with both bullets.I use Remington brass,WLRM primers for my loads.I normally load with Reloader 22 before I tried Reloader 26.With Reloader 22 I use 66.0grs for the 160gr Accubond and 67.5grs for the 150gr Ballistic Tips.My Reloader 26 loads are 67.5grs with the 160gr Accubond.Only load I tried and it grouped really well and 69.0grs with the 150gr Ballistic Tip.I did go as high as 70.0grs without issues,but settled with the 69.0gr load.

Here is how 67.5grs of Reloader 26 did with the 160gr Accubond.I think is was around 3070fps.

My fav 7RM load. That load did very well with good bud in Africa. Great PG combo.

Back when I hunted bean fields with a 7mm mag. I used Reloader 22 with a 140 gr. Nosler Ballistic tip 5 shot average velocity was 3325 fps....I worked up a 160 gr. Nosler Partition load with Hogden 1000 that averaged a little over 3200 fps...both loads would shoot 5 shot 1" groups to the same point of impact. The gun shot best set up 10 thousands off the rifling with a Stoney Point and I used a Forstner with a Micro seater top.
The gun was a 1960's 3 lug Sako action with a 24" Shilen Air gauge barrel topped with Schmidt and Bender 2.5x10-56mm in a Browns Precision Kevlar stock....the gun was built by a gunsmith in Colorado I think his name was Sutton.

I could do worse.

You should like the speed too

If we had more RL-26 this thread would be longer.
