What running boards/steps for a '19 Tundra Double Cab?

The Tundra sits lower than my Dodge 2500 long bed quad cab so it's not as important but I needed something to help me get to stuff the front of the bed. I put on full length nerf bars that run to the rear wheel wells. They help a LOT.

I have the Toyota factory running boards and I like them. Im not sure of the cost they came with the truck

I use/like the Westin wheel-to-wheel oval tube/nerf step bars. They don't pick up and hold mud/slush/other crap like running boards.

I have Amp, on my 18 Ram.

I looked at those, but $1,600.00 + installation isn't happening. I ended up ordering NFab hoop steps.

My answer was going to be NFab or AMP, all depending on your budget. If you watch some of the Toyota forums you can easily find guys that are dealers on this stuff. They’ll drop ship them to you at greatly discounted prices. I have a ‘14 with NFab steps and they’ve been great.

I have the AMP on mine, I like the way they pop down when the door is opened and light up. Expensive, but worth it.

I bought Westin and the powder coating was so bad they were rusting right out of the box , their customer service and warranty sucks .

When I bought my current Westins in 2013 the shop I bought from said if you only want them for a couple years get the black powder coat, if you want them to last 6 or 8 yrs or more get the stainless steel. I bought the stainless steel, 6&1/2 yrs later and they're still in great shape.

My Ford has those same power retractable ones like the Ram in Sactoller's picture. They work fine in warm weather when they are clean, but run them on wet gravel roads and the little stones get in the front hinge and they don't work so well. They let you know pretty quickly that your battery is low as well because they either don't go down or they won't retract fully or at all. Fine for a soccer mom grocery getter, but not for a work truck. KIS and get those heavy bars in Rock Chucks post.

End up getting Nfabs. I didn't really want any steps, but my wife needed them to get in and out. Son in law works for a parts distribution company so I got a decent deal on them.

My wife wants me to put running boards on our RAM. So far I have refused since they are what keeps me stuck in deep snow. I told her if we get the AMPs I would do it.

Years ago when I purchased my 2002 Ford F250 SD I put chrome nerf bars on it. I never really liked them and did not trust them when my grandkids were very young. I was afraid, and I have heard of it happening, that one of them with their small feet would slip on the step when they had mud or snow on them and their foot would go down between the truck and the bar as they fell, causing serious injury. You guys who ride horses know what I am talking about with stirrups. Now I don't think it is a problem for adults and my only concern was small children.



I shortly replaced the nerf bars with running boards and have been happy with them. Now my truck is lifted approximately 4 1/2" an runs 35" tires so I was never concerned with the bars or running boards dragging.

I know the OP made a purchase, but I am happy with the factory boards on my 4Runner. I guess they are wide enough that they protect door dings. I had my 4Runner a year in a tight parking lot, and no dings. They also keep stones from hitting.
When I was buying mine I saw a set of take offs on craigs list. I was going to put those on, because the one I was going to buy did not have any running boards. Turns out thta one sold, and I wound up with one that came with them. I would buy the factory ones again.

AMPS are nice.

AMPS are definitely nice, I have them on my 05 250 And my 97 350, they are sweet expensive, but sweet.
