Took a small doe with my 25-45 Sharps this weekend. Same load as last year 87 Speer Hot Core at 2800 fps muzzle velocity. My longest shot yet this year at a whopping 109 yards. High shoulder shot and pass through.
It isn't energy that kills, its holes.

Saw that in a magazine a while back. Looked like a good one. Guess it is.
You're the first I've seen that actually has one.
Nice work.
What fresh Hell is this?

Is it the lower velocity that allows the Hot Core to perform better on larger game, or is that bullet tougher than the other lighter 25 caliber bullets out there? It's been years since I shot anything with a .25 caliber rifle and those were at Roberts and 2506 velocities
Kaiser Norton.
