Checked out a 1886 45/70 that supposedly has been in our extended family since new. Serial dates it to 1894 manufacture. Cool old rig. Anyway, I saw it has a broken lifter and about 3 screws are pretty buggered up. Thoughts on best place for repair on those items?
Ran a few patches down the bore and it has some pitting it would appear, but not really that bad. It'll just sit in the safe for eternity is my guess, but kind of want to get those repairs done to it.
Not a Winchester guy so hoping this is an appropriate question for this forum. If it isn't, please ignore it.

My 1886 just had that same work done about two weeks ago by a wonderful “vintage only” gunsmith in Elijay Georgia named Bill Schwarz., Schwarz Gun Repair. He’s absolutely the best . He works on guns from all over the country. Great guy and reasonably priced.
