Is there anything that prevents the use of paper patched or cloth patched bullets?

I have used both in ML rifles and they worked as well as plastic sabots. Better in the case of rifles that didn't like certain brands of sabots.

I know that Colorado isn't really "traditional muzzleloader", but:
"Sabots are prohibited during muzzleloader season. Cloth patches are not considered sabots. Bullet designs such as the Powerbelt are legal for use."

Here in PA we have flintlock only season after Christmas for 3 weeks. A long time ago it was patched roundball only. Then they allowed sabots and conicals.
Kinda recently, we can even use peep sights, so that is pretty progressive.
Rifles are above 44 caliber, single projectile, and flint pistols 50 or above.

Next week is muzzleloader only for elk, cow only, within one mile of private land.
Round ball, belted conicals, open ignition, Clint or caps. No 209's or sabots.
Both my sidekicks shoot 348 belted with 95 g volume to the same poi. One has a 18 inch barrel , one has a 26 inch barrel. The rifle cracks loaded with 95 g of triple 7 , the carbine doesn't with the same load.
Was thinking of selling one of the other but when I shoot them that thought goes away .
