G'day all.
I just bought a 99C in 7mm-08. I'm aware they were only so chambered for a couple of years, but wondered just how uncommon they are? The rifle is being shipped to me, it appears to be in very good shape. It set me back about $830.00 US, so it was a bit pricey, but knowing it's a scarce piece, I thought I'd risk a few bucks.
If anyone has loaded for one of these, any pointers would be appreciated. I have a goodly assortment of 7mm bullets and Varget, Reloder 15 and H4350 powders to try.

As always, condition is everything, but in my opinion and without seeing it I would say you bought it for about 33 per cent under fair price. JMHO.

I haven’t seen one go for under $1K in awhile. Vast majority of them well north of $1K.
You could sell it here in one day for what you paid for it.
In conclusion, you bought well.

I've have had two, both went down the road when prices went to over $2K. I didn't want one that bad.

Great, sounds like it was a good deal.....I hope! Will try to post pics or at least a description when it arrives. I've never actually laid eyes on a 7-08 or seen one for sale before so I just jumped on it.

Yeah, Mike, there isn't the competitive collectors' market for 99's in Canada. I sold an excellent EG in .250 last year for about $500.00 US and a couple very nice .300 EG's for a hundred less.

Yah, I saw Lawman's post on CGN too. All his rifles looked in very good condition. Wondering what's he's buying if this is what he's selling...

Somebody would have had to have sawed the gun in half for it to sell for 830 down here.
I'd say you did OK

I paid about twice that for mine quite a few years ago. We Southerners would say "you killed a fat hog with that one". It's the modern 99C on the cover of my book.
wyo1895 With Savage never say never. For a copy of my book on engraved Savage lever actions rifles send a check for $80 to; David Royal, p.o. box 1271, Pinedale, Wy., 82941. I will sign and inscribe the book for you. [email protected]
