Guys,

I want to get my boy a tripod for Christmas.

Not just backpacking, but he takes his camera just about everywhere he goes. So something light, compact, durable and not flimsy (when set up). Preferably comes with a bag or also steer me to a bag that will work with it.

All he's had in the past was a Walmart piece of... that finally fell apart.

My limit is $150 minus.

Doug or any other vendors... feel free to pipe in.

Appreciate the help,

Jerry

With that budget and purpose, I like the MeFoto Backpacker and you can always upgrade the ball head if needed.

The best bet would be the Promaster X-CM series. They make it in aluminum. The X-CM522 normally 159.99, now through 12/2 it would be $129.99 It'd a solid tripod, comes with a great ball head that is Arca Swiss and has a 3 year no fault warranty that we extend to 5 years.
Give me a call with any questions or to get one on the way
