Best comic book movie ever? Possibly.
Best Joker portrayal ever? Definitely.
Anyone who isn't totally burnt out on comic book movies should go check this one out. Brilliant acting by Joaquin Phoenix; if the Academy Award people aren't neutered entirely, he should win an Oscar easily.
DC finally got it right, and released a comic book movie with balls.

The Rex Reed review was interesting. Looking forward to seeing this. On disc, at home.

I just saw it. I can't say I "enjoyed" it, but it was amazing, if that makes sense. It is probably the second darkest movie I've ever seen, behind "8mm", which Joaquin was also in. The thing about this movie is that unlike nearly 100% of "Super Hero" movies, there is nothing unbelievable in "Joker". The events in this movie are happening on the streets in every major city today and there are nuts just like Arthur walking the streets among us.

Finally watched it after all the praise.
Sweet Jesus, it sucked nuts. Apparently the living Phoenix is amazing because he lost 50 pounds, laughs non-stop and dances terribly.
Sounds like a typical weekend from my youth.
Movie blows

We saw it opening weekend and thought it was very good, but holy schit was that movie quiet when everyone got up to leave.
At one point in the film the audience around us started to laugh, when there was nothing funny taking place. There was a very defenseless man that is terrified of being Joker's next victim. But his handicap prevents him from escaping. As everybody laughed at this scene I couldn't help but think Gotham was the audience and that the film's director just might be a genius.
But I was also pretty drunk so take that for what it's worth.
Trump being classless, tasteless and clueless as usual. Sorry, trump is a no tax payin pile of shiit. My young wife decided to play the field and had moved several dudes into my house
