This 1966 movie was started by a couple of English teenagers from an idea that one of them had about England after it had been taken by the Nazis in 1941. The complexities of culture, collaboration, vengeance are explored as the partisans fight the remaining German troops, most of whom have been sent back to fight the communists, and the remaining British collaborator troops and then the Americans finally come in.

Retribution follows.

The black and white photography blends in well with the B&W German newsreels that were also utilized.

Images of "Nazi" troops marching in London and interacting with civilians are impressive.

It was difficult for me to understand some (much) of the dialog with my hearing and the sound quality and the accents but overall it was an interesting film.
