Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

Federal. Has always been stellar in whatever I'm shooting.
Yup.

I've had great success with Hornady Precision Hunter ammo but would agree with others that the Federal line may be better, overall.

When I'm first trying out a new rifle I almost always choose federal first. If the caliber is available from them.
Just picked up NIB 7 mag. Store had 3 choices for ammo
Hornady American white tail
Remington corelokt
Federal premium Nosler partition
The choice was easy

Honestly I am suprised how hands down Federal is winning
I probably need to take it more serious If given a choice I grab Hornady and have been happy But I value all experience here

There are many characteristics involved with ammo. The characteristic that is most important to me is accuracy. The round that I always come back to is the Remington Core Lokt 30-06 150g. The CL does better than most of boutique ammo that I've tried, I don't know why I buy it. When I leave for a hunt I always grab the green box. CL's are cheap. But I've never had a rifle that would shoot it accurately. Most recently: - Marlin 30-30 shoots CL's 1 1/2 at 50 yards but Winchesters into a 1/2" group. - Rem 700 shoots CL's 2 1/2" at 100 yards. Hornady Superperformance 150 grs into a 3/4" group. I always give the CL's a chance. But they've never been the best.

Federal has the best overall line no doubt.
I’ve had great results from Hornady of late.

Picked up some Remington Core Loct S.P. in .270Win. Didn't realize till I got to the range that they weren't PSPCL..... Was SPCL (round nose) Oh well.... Result..... 3 groups .... .49 .56 .52 !
But I also think Federal wins this deal with their bullet selection !

I usually shoot an assortment in a new rifle. Federal Premium, especially the trophy copper bullets, usually group outstandingly. I’ve also had very good luck with several good Hornady loads. The superformance line is great. I was honestly disappointed with Precision Hunter line. Not that was inaccurate, but I was hoping for superior accuracy.
All that said, I’ve never had a bullet fail in terminal performance. I am judging these by group size only, and all of them are at least good enough to group 1.5”. That’s plenty good enough for me. They would all kill just the same. It’s my never ending search for tightest groups that distinguishes these at all.

It seems like Federal usually has the biggest variety from budget to premium.

Based on factory ammo I've tried and what I've heard from others Black Hills is very good.

Hornady for me, but I don't shoot much factory loaded ammo. My buddies that shoot factory ammo and don't hand load generally use Hornady precision hunter and back in the day the light magnums were the ones they would grab.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Federal definitely has the widest variety.
Winchester is getting close. It now has a couple of different rapid-expansion game bullets, the old Power Point, Ballistic Tips, Nosler ABLR, new proprietary all-copper bullet, a couple of bonded bullets, HP match bullets, FMJ, etc. Add the Browning label (which are Winchester products) and you have quite an extensive line.
Hornady has great offerings but the fact they don’t load other manufacturers’ bullets keeps them behind Federal and Winchester.

What could be a sadder way to end a life than to die having never hunted with great dogs, good friends and your family?
