The short story is I have battled the fat demon for 49 of 55 years, Primal Blueprint got me started, Intermittent Fasting was all I needed to make real progress. I was on the high side of normal my senior year of high school and the first few years of college, after that just fk'd even after decades of a keto lifestyle. Started PB August of 2018, made good progress losing weight, blood glucose levels dropped and stabilized but I stalled out. Started IF May of 2019 and crushed the 200 lb barrier in October. I will say I am close to finished when I see the abs that I feel and have no doubts I will get there even at 55. My goal was to be off all meds (diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol) by August of 2019 and I quit taking diabetes and blood pressure meds in July, I need to go in for my A1C that was due in August but I doubt I will need anything. My multi-day fasting blood glucose level runs 75-85, intermittent fasting blood glucose level runs 90-105...as always, there are spikes if I have a carb overload like plantain chips although I don't have carb overloads often. Currently I am wearing large Cinch shirts, 34 Ariat jeans and 36 Rock and Roll jeans but was in 44 Dickey's and 3X shirts a year ago. At my lowest in college I wore 32 or 33 Levi's and medium shirts so I am getting close but I believe I will be in the best physical shape of my life before I turn 56 in July.

I define "intermittent fasting" as no snacks between meals. Or while asleep.

Thanks gentlemen...I was dying, mentally and physically and running out of options. Outstanding!
What method of IF did you use? All types, it started with eliminating breakfast and eating only lunch. Did some multi-day fasts 3-12 days and one 28 day fast. I did choose to eat something (a snack, no meals) when blood glucose dropped below 70...spooked me the first time that happened. I am still doing multi-day fasts at least until I get down to ~185 and will probably continue with lunch only or lunch and dinner, I guess that is an 18hr fast.

Great job man. I do a whole foods plant based diet and Intermittent fast on a 16-8 window. I basically stop eating by 6PM and take in zero calories and zero artificial sweeter until after 10 am the next day. Most days it's 1-2 PM when I want to eat. I might break that fast one or two days a month but it's at least 16 hours most days.

Congratulations.
You're fortunate that you found a dietary regimen that has saved your life.
Keep up the good work.

Dang, I'm sure glad that just going low carb has gotten me down to where I need to be. Not sure I would have (aw, heck, I KNOW) the fortitude to do even a single multi-day fast.....

Its impressive that you still were active even at 270! Congratulations and best wishes for continuing success.
