Opinions are varied as usual but the consensus seems to be to bed hard to the hanger and float the barrel and action contact points. Is this what others have used? How do I prevent a mechanical bond between hanger and barrel? Will a clay dam covered with tape be sufficient? Also should I do this in two phases, the barrel then the action? This is the Miroku version.
What has worked for others? This rifle was fine from the factory with a pseudo free float but I cracked the fore end and want to bed to add more strength to the repair. Would either neutral or pressure point bedding be better for sling use? In the factory condition I could not use a shooting sling.
