They were available in this configuration from the factory late 30's till the beginning of WWII. wyo1895 With Savage never say never. We talked about Bong & his rifle before. Poplar, WI is a tiny town on the south shore of Lake Superior 20 miles east of Duluth/Superior. Northwoods. Some info on the rifle/scope setup is here... Yup, I actually had a T7 mount for a long time just knowing that I would stumble on the 99 with the correct tap holes. Never did so I gave it to a young man in the Navy stationed at Norfolk who had Savage fever real bad. Home for wayward neglected 99's.
