I was just looking at a ‘73 Win. In 44-40, serial number under 1300, with folding tang (peep) sight. Rifle is well worn, but not abused, action is tight. What is a very rough “guesstimate” of value? memtb

you are looking at a rare rifle. I don't know what it is worth but good luck if you want to go after it. cool old rifles!

kid0719, I only got to handle it, it’s not for sale. It will be kept in the family! But, it was pretty neat to get to handle it, and hear a little of it’s history! It was never a “safe queen”, but is in pretty darn good shape! memtb

They run from 800 rough to 8I in fine condition. Most I have had and sold were in the 1200 to1800 range.
