I have a supply of 230 gr acp bullets.. Since I prefer to buy bulk ammo for practice I wanted to shoot these bullets in my .45 Colt in my Ruger BH... It does not have the acp cylinder.. Any problem with this plan.. I would probably use Unique powder... Thanks...

It'll be fine so long as you use data for that bullet weight. Expect your POI to be lower than it is with the 250-255 grain bullets.

I’ve shot plenty of them with 8 grains of Herco.

Yeah, do it.

One thing ... if it were me, I'd pick up a taper crimp die or a .45 acp die set, whatever seemed less expensive, rather than trying to fine-tune a roll crimp die to effectively produce a taper crimp.

None of the blued 4-5/8" .45 blackhawks I've owned had enough sight adjustment to get 'em on target with heavier bullets or with heavier powder charges. I think what you're doing would have worked out just about right. No such issue with the stainless .45s in 4-5/8", they all came with much taller front sights than their blued counterparts. Weird but true.

But 45 acp bullets are .451 45 Colt is .454 give or take. That 45 acp bullets are going to rattle down the pipe of that 45 Colt. Don't expect to much accuracy.
