The catwalk comments on the other thread made me think of the catwalks at the Sioux City yards.

You can not see them very well in this picture.

Even during my time a 6000 head run of fat cattle on a Monday was not unusual.

They drove cattle on the ground level, hogs on the next highest, and sheep on the third level.

Some where was a walkway for the people.
