What does this offer that all of the other 9mm pistols (Sig MPX, CZ Scorpion or CZ Bren, etc.) don't offer at 1/2 the price?

Cool gun for sure, but at $2,800.00 that’s expensive bragging rights for the initials “H&K” (don’t get me wrong .... I have a real H&K 91). If I was inclined towards an MP5 style weapon (and I’m not since I have a Stribog .... a lot of bang for the buck) I would probably go with a PTR:

List is around $1,680.00 for the PTR and I’d have a few nickels left in my jeans. Just sayin’ ....

I’d rather have a Keltec Sub-2000 that takes Glock 17 mags. 😬

No way. I understand the complaints about the HK price, and agree, but the Sub2000 is in no way a comparable replacement. The MP5 platform (even the cheaper copies like Zenith) is pretty robust, accurate, and reliable, unlike the Sub2000 which is cheap junk and barely more than a toy, speaking from personal experience with both.

I'd gladly choose a stock G17 instead of that KelTec folding sewage pipe.

I like shooting the MP5, and even was pleasantly surprised with one of those Zenith clones (in SBR form, even better), but even the clones are more than I want to spend for what they are. I was able to compare a bunch of the common 9mm PCC guns, including some modern stuff and some older stuff like the Uzi and MP5, and found that for suppressed shooting the MP5 was definitely the quietest and most accurate. However, it's still an ~8 lb 9mm. There are some applications where that makes sense, but for my uses, without full auto, my money is better spent elsewhere.

I will say the Zenith I used had some feed issues that were caused by magazines - turned out all the bad magazines were factory HK; the Zenith mags worked flawlessly. I had to bend the mag lips on the HK mags to get them feeding right.

Good ones?

Less than you’d think.

I’d rather have a Glock 17 too. I was being sarcastic.

You couldn’t give me a semi-auto MP5 or any of its clones.

With no stock and no full auto, I don’t see the appeal. I have a lot of time on MP5’s but I don’t see paying what they are asking for a big pistol.

Because you can add a brace, which technically, is not a "stock".

In SBR or braced form they are a lot better, but I do agree that they're really intended for full auto and without that they lose a lot of appeal. I'd be happy to have one for a range gun, they are good guns, but wouldn't have any serious use for one that I couldn't do better with something else.

I agree that a brace would make it better. I just think there are better options for less money

These guns are funny - they're designed to be really cheap to manufacture, and do a good job of that, but somehow demand much higher prices than other (arguably better) guns that are a lot more expensive to make. I get that with an HK you're paying mostly for the name, but for something like a Zenith or PTR I'd think they'd be a lot cheaper if they made enough of them. For $500-$600 I'd buy one just for fun, but not gonna pay $1500+, much less almost $3K.

Big Daddy Unlimited had them for $2183.99, but they are sold out.
