Interesting documentary on deported Mexican vets from the afgan/Iraq wars. Estimated in the 1000's deported and many now working for the cartels.
On Showtime for the next several days.

I caught the last half hour or so of the documentary. I couldn't help but notice too that the short portion I watched seemed to have a good bit of sad "mood setting" background music.
As I understand immigration laws were passed back in 1996 under Bill Clinton's administration that expanded types of undesirable conduct that allowed deportation. As I understand too in 2017 the DoD made policy changes substantially reducing the number of noncitizens allowed to join the U.S. military.
