Having a legit reason to be running around the remote desert down there is quite the guise.
Not to mention the money laundering potential, with $90,000 hunts on the table. I wonder how many bighorn hunts he booked a year? Probably a lot more on paper than he really did, which cleans up drug money quickly I'll bet.

Unfortunately, drugs and outfitting have had a lot of connection the last few decades. Also the majority of poaching rings here in the west that have been busted are usually involved in manufacture and/or distribution of drugs.

Why hunt there? Two reasons. Big mule deer, and no draw desert big horn sheep. It may be the only way most guys can get a desert big horn to fill their grand slam. Simply not enough sheep, and tags in the US. Still, I don't think I would go down there and hunt.

Jud, ask Drummond here what he thinks of Raul and his company. Drum knows his stuff.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

How are you risking your life ? Not in shape to do the hunt, and may have a heart attack ? I plan on checking a bucket list off with a Coues deer hunt. Back surgery has me on a get in awesome physical shape journey. Going to put in for Ibex, here in NM too.

I have two friends that hunt in Mexico. One is there right now and the other just got back. My last trip was over 25 years ago. Things will have to change for me to go back. But I want go to the East or West coast of the US either. Their restrictions on concealed carry will keep me from visiting. Some of the feral inhabitants of the big cities are just as dangerous as Mexico. Hasbeen

I have hunted in Sonora. Cordial people, excellent food if you enjoy Mexican dishes, adequate sleeping quarters and they certainly have big Coues Deer! Never experienced a problem while hunting on a ranch. Having said that, I was continually vigilant. Probably just my nature to be cautious.
