get the tents dried out yet?

running around the junipers with full overcast is pretty spooky, unless you have a canyon to orient by, or a good gps. easy to get turned around in there and wander.

always like to hunt elk in the snow, but not for too long!

good job.

Ugh, one of them is dry. The other needs some patch work. Also Google maps is awesome to navigate by and works in airplane mode. The advent of cell phones and maps and GPS... so much easier to not get lost than when I was a kid

Also, onX sucks. I'll take my GPS over onX any day.

What map resolution and layers are you downloading with onX? OnX is your gps plus 1000. I don’t get it

I remember some late season bull hunts. two more snow than this year and two less. you guys really beat the odds. good job. great memories. and yes the low clouds and the junipers you can get a little off in your orientation. bad feeling. .

Yes....

I'll hopefully have a tutorial session with him which is what I needed when learning OnX....

Yeah no kidding huh? Not trying to plug for Sitka gear, I certainly can’t afford it, but that pattern fits the AZ high desert pretty darn well

When attempting to follow onX back to truck and the "go this way" funnel randomly spins, even when not moving for 30+seconds, I'll take my trusty Garmin 60 CSX please.

Frankie - I felt like I just relived the hunt and its only been a week.

In fact I have already made elk meatballs for the wife, and will be cooking the tenderloin for Christmas dinner. Every time I eat game from my hunts, it takes me back to the adventure.

I too Love elk, I love to hunt, I love the pain, the victory, the highs, and the lows of hunting. Can't wait to be out there with all of you again.
