While I know this subject has probably been covered, a quick search hasn't turned up anything super recent. Couple that with new fabrics coming online all the time, I thought I'd post the question anyway. This past fall it was made abundantly clear that the REI rain jacket I've used for years is now far from waterproof. What I'm looking for is a rain jacket that has a bit of stretch to it. I'd also like it to be relatively breathable; either via the type of fabric or with ample ventilation. Some not so old threads/posts make me think something out of eVent or Neoshell might be what I'm looking for. Any other fabrics that I should be looking at?

Describe the hunting and conditions you expect to face and we can give a better recommendation.

Hunting would be mostly in the Midwest and Rocky Mtn states. Often out of a basecamp with a few backpack hunts thrown in. Most common use would be for every day in the rain and I live in the Midwest. Weight and packability are a consideration, but not to the extent that I'd like to give up too much in breathability or durability.

The Kuiu Yukon weighs 24 oz and the Chugach weighs 17 oz. Both are great jackets and tick all your boxes. I have both and wear the Yukon the most due to the extra durability.
