44.2 grains of Varget and a CCI 200 primer in Remington brass works pretty well in my Browning A-bolt.

I see Hodgdon data with 120’s at 3,200 with StaBALL. One contributor reported he saw pressure way before his 7-08 shot his 120 NBT that fast. I have a can, haven’t tried it yet. Will work with it after deer season.

Look forward to your data.

3200 is pretty fast for a 120 in a regular 7mm08. That is tops for my 7mm08 improved. My best shooting load was at 3250 but the primer pockets would only last for five reloads. miles

I've used Varget 44.5 gr and 120 NBT with 2950 fps. Also got over 3100 fps with Big Game and CFE223 with good accuracy.

I have a Remington Model Seven SS in 7-08 with a 20" barrel. For my 120 grain NBTs, I'm using Varget and WLRM primers. Switching to magnum primers really tighten the group up. I'm getting 3000fps with that load.

My 140 grain Partition load is with Big Game powder at 2850fps.

Precisely. Also help in colder weather.

But by all means, try both magnum and standard for yourself.

I had a 25-06 that was a 3/4-1" gun with standard primers, a mag primer took it to a 1/2-5/8" gun.

My Tikka gets 3126 FPS with 51.5 gr Big Game, 120 BT, and WLRM. Under half inch groups. Work up to it.

For sure work up to these loads. Some on here are pretty warm. Each rifle chamber and throat is different, as are types of primers, powder lots, brand of brass etc. As an example, in my 7mm-08, when loading the 120 gr BT in Lapua brass, I use a grain and a half less Big Game than I do when loading in Remington brass for the same velocity. Hope that makes sense.

Definitely work up. I'm getting almost that same velocity with only 50 grains of BG. 50.5 grains was too warm. +/-3200 fps and sticky bolt. Also I'm using 120 TTSX, so that is a little different.
Previous rifle, I used 50.5 for 3150ish and it was no problem. Either way, the performance is great.

Big difference in stickiness between the two bullets. Definitely lower the charge with any monometal.
