Bristoe hooked me up with a real nice Redfield 70 series receiver sight with hunter knobs a couple of months ago for my Marlin 36G.
100% correct Bristoe, I need a higher front sight.
I'm 3 inches low at 100 yds with 160 gr leverevolution.
Small winter project after deer season...

Anyways ole Bristoe put no return address or POC on the packagr so I could scratch his back also.
Cant even return the postage
He said it is in good hands with me and was glad it will get used.
Which it will in the 2020 deer season.

So I'm gonna roll the same way.
No return address or POC
Dont want no postage back either.

"Pass it on"

What goes around, comes around...
Lower 48 only guys, sorry alaska guys and fugg anyone from Hawaii.
LOL!!!
I can ship it out monday or tuesday.
1st "I will take it" ( everything in one shot) on the thread followed by a pm with your mailing address.
Me and Bristoe dealt on the gen forum to begin with.
So it is going up for all the general forumites where it belongs.
Take what ya want out of the package and give the other stuff to someone who could use it.

1Qt Stanley Thermos: glass not broke, clean it out with a scrubby on a handle, the aluminum interior is coffee stained since I started using it in 2003, was a unca suga gift given to his armed goons. It is clean, but aluminium retains staining.
Been about 2 yrs since last use and cleaning.

10 rd AK47 mag: use it for zeroing only, if you get killed using it to fight liberal socialist democrats. Then your a dumbass cause these things are infamous for jamming.

Pair of liner socks: self explanatory

1 Brunton compass: works like it should, needs some soft scrub on the plastic. I have other compasses dont worry I wont get lost.
LOL!!!

Smiths arkansas stone and oil: used once...
Like my hard yellow arkansas better.

40 cal Boresnake: sold my glock 24 long ago.

AR Assembly tool: gonna buy a stag 15 retro rifle, dont see myself making a clone of anything again.

Uncle mikes sling swivels: dont like slings except for on my AK.

Medium take off rings: took em off something long time ago I bought.

Pizz Dripper: make a scrape on a travel corridor, pre rut and rut.
Might work for ya, might not. Did one time for me came back on mid tour leave from my 3rd tour in korea( dont care for koreans much, very stubborn people) set it the 2nd day back , told my youngest daughter I was gonna kill a buck by it in a couple of days , day 4 home I was dragging a nice 8 pt up into the back yard.
Dumbass hit that mock scrape and died.... lol!!!

Ford Ranger Haynes manual: better than paying an over priced mechanic for something you can do yourself. Dont see myself buying a 4th ford ranger, pretty happy with 4wd colorado.
Next will be a Toyota anyways.

Now the greatest thing of it all!!!!

Probably the worlds only unopened roll of BEAVIS and BUTTHEAD
Buttwipe toliet paper.
It is actually worth some money.
Be a good joke display thing.
On you if you break it outta the plastic and open it up outta some strange sense of curiosity.
Might turn out to be a kids or grand kids college fund somday.
Gawd knows what it might be worth in 10 or 20 or more years

Lol!!!

And finally
John Glenn( not fugging McCain) hotwheels collector set
Worth some money also.

Their ya go....
1st lower 48 " I will take it" posted on the thread ( every fugging thing in 1 shot)
Followed by a pm to me with your mailing info.
Its all yours....

Like Slumlord said
"Pics or it didnt happen"

satir.....
You cant have it ....
LOL!!!!

One of the forums I read sometimes does something similar with one of the post office boxes.

Whoever gets the box takes what they want and adds something they don't want. They then mail it to the next person on the list. The forum has a sticky where they can sign up to get the box.

This place is full of great guys.

M. Stevenson did the same thing for me a couple years ago and I haven’t forgotten. 😉. We’ve been busy with aging parents but I will get my chance someday. 😁

Great post renegade. Besides....I always liked Bristoe, even if I don’t agree with him, which isn’t often I usually like hearing his point of view. 👍

When I put the Lyman receiver sight on my Model 94 I had to use a Lyman .494" high front sight to get everything leveled out.

I don't recall how I figured out what front sight to use,...probably searched around on the internet until I found somebody who had a similar set up.

Of course,...that doesn't mean that a Marlin would need the same front sight. But you might search around the internet to see what other people have used.

I need .036 to .048 more
3 to 4 inches
Right now the front sight is right between 7/16ths and 15/ 32nds

Looked atca fraction to decimel chart in the .490 range
Need around a .530 ish.
Just gonna order a williams .570
Do some jeweler filing and contouring, make it a blade down around the height get out to the range and fine tune it.
After this deer season.

Im gonna post some pics of the redfeild in a minute Bristoe
You will be pleasant surprised at how it looks now
Had ta do some mods to it on windage side of it cause of right side issues on the outer receiver edge.
That mod allowed me to get 2 more full turns of down on elevation.
Function and durability of it are GTG.
I enjoy doing stuff like this anyways
I have shot it several times with diferent weights of ammo.
High....
Windage is center line GTG.
Sight is down as far as it can plus up 2 clicks to clear receiver

This pic basically shows ya Bristoe the clearance I had ta make.
The brace plate on the inner left for the windage is actually been worked on a little more to get it lower and at a 45 to the receiver slant .
Which gave me some more down.
Also filed the botton retaining plate about half of the thickness in this pic down some more, which the apeature slide base is held to the frame with.

Lots of fine file work and fitting back and forth.
But well worth it!!!
Thanks for hooking me up with this sight.
One of a kind!!!
The machine work craftmanship you did in recreating the mounting base and plate.
File work, mods , and ceramacoat I tweeked to it.
Functional and rugged.
.063 aperture was a .050 that I drilled out.

One of kind.
Proud to have it!!!!
