I was at a lgs today and saw they had the stainless Kimber hunters on sale for $699.00. It seems like a good deal to me. I've been eyeballing these rifles for some time now. I damn near bought one when it was $850.00. I've also heard Kimber has made some good improvements in their production, so I'm also wondering if buying a newer Kimber is as much of a roulette game as it used to be. Anyone here buy a new kimber hunter lately and if so, is that a good price? Thanks...

That’s a very good buy - imo.

I have two of them now (6.5CM & 7-08) and really enjoy them.
After using the CM in the field, I find it pretty unappealing to carry a heavier rifle.
Accuracy from the CM is stellar - the 7-08 is brand new and still unfired.
I wish they’d put out a fast twist .223....... I’d be buying another 👍

I bought one about a year ago for $650. One place had a black friday deal for the 30-06 version for under $600.

I like mine. Its a 270 Win and shoots good. Of the few factory loads that I tried, it liked the Federal 140 grain Trophy Bonded Tip the best. It was right around 3/4" at 100 yards.

The trigger was a bit heavy for me, about 4.5 lbs. Now it is at 3 lbs. The action has smoothed out too. It was a bit rough at first, but now its nice and smooth.

I carried mine for most of the blacktail and elk season this year when I could make it out. It was nice to carry.

KY Gun had the Hunter in 30-06 for $549, but they're out of stock now. I scored one. $699 is a good price.

Get one and report back. I love the Montana and 84M select.
