I have been contemplating buying a classic slim, lightweight carbine that shoots a moderate cartridge mostly the Winchester 94 and the mannlicher schoenauer 1903.

What are some of your favorite svelte carbines that are worth thinking about?

Many thanks,

Tom

BSA Majestic in 308 topped with a Leupold 1-4x. My wife's rifle. It comes in right at 6 pounds.

I like my Remington Model 7 stainless 223. I also once had an 1891 Argentine Mauser Calvary Carbine that was the cat's meow. Don't know as I ever saw a slicker action on a rifle.

If you can find one the ruger ultralights 20" barrel with the ebony fore end tip had nice slim stocks and were a joy to handle.

Winchester 94 Trapper in either .44 mag or 30-30.

I also like the Original M1-Carbine. Although the caliber is not much of a hunting caliber, sadly.

I have both the Winchester 94 and a 1903 M-S. You can't go wrong with either one. Or do like I did and get both.

No love for the 760/7600 carbine............
‘Moderate’ would call for the .35 Remington.

George.

I was going to add a .308 carbine to the pump family, but couldn’t resist a .358 BLR.

I needed some diversity. 😀
