Any one collect or care about these old revolvers ? I have a Premier 32 S &W I think that is followed up by TGE on the left side of the barrel. Nickel plated double action revolver. What can anyone tell me about this thing . The serial number appears to be 10563.
Thanks for any info.

Caliber marking is on side of barrel? That typical means a smokeless model made after 1905.

On the left side of the barrel it is stamped, Premier 32 S &W TGE . Anyone know what the TGE stands for, I'm pretty sure this is not a target model .

"TGE" was short for cartridge as it appears on other makes than H&R. I acquire Iver Johnson pistols and have seen it on a number of them. From this I have read or heard a little of their competitors but it isn't much.
The Pemier was made from the mid 1890's to WWII. Around 1905 there was a change in metallurgy to handle smokeless powder but that is not a fast rule. IJ started around that time but did not complete the change over until ~1909. I suspect H&R was no different.
10,xxx seems to be an early serial number but there were no hard and fast rules regarding them and some manufacturers would start over at "1" when a certain number was reached or a change in the model occurred. Nickel plating was often standard in the black powder guns with it becoming an option as one continues into the smokeless era. Bill Goforth was working on an H&R reference book when he died but I don't know where it stands now. There was talk of his family finishing it off but I haven't heard lately.
That is about all I can recall at the moment, when I get home I'll give my IJ books a look to see if they have anything more. There isn't much but there is some comparisons with competing brands.

I had an H&R M16A1 when I went through basic training at Ft. Knox back in early '78. It shot well enough to make "Expert" with it, and it outshot the GM Hydromatic I had in AIT at Benning, by a long shot.
