They weren't 94's but I've seen in local farm auctions that Stevens Crackshots went for 1200 and 800 respectively. One was pristine having been nicely refinished and the other was very worn but tight. I go to a lot of auctions and yeah shills are frequent but have decided that old men with a heavy dose of nostalgia and a dash of ego just won't be denied.

Mertz is sky high to begin with. The above auction where the 94 sold high either involves shills, uninformed bidders, or just sheer lunacy. Expect its some of all.
