Hunted Kansas a few days. Was getting into a few birds on Friday am, but mostly hens or wild flushing roosters. Bane went on point in a low spot surrounded by hip high grass. I closed in and rooster boiled out. Missed first shot, knocked him down with second at kind of long range. Tossed 2 more in the Franchi real quick while Bane went to get him. Immediately had 2 more roosters flush and dropped both as Bane got to me with the first. Took that one from him and had one more flush out and dropped him with my last shot. Bane grabbed that one, took a hand signal on the further of the other 2, and I picked up the 4th. Kansas limit in one flurry. Numbers seemed a bit down around the Dighton area. Spent Saturday there with very few birds on many walks. Of course its getting to be later season on public so a bit expected.

About 10 years ago near Greensburg, KS my uncle and I did the same thing. First push of the day and my GSP and Lab start getting birdy as we work up a 1/4/ long fence line. We get the the corner and my GSP and Lab both go on point. Pheasants started coming out in singles and pairs. When the shooting stopped we had empty Benelli shotguns and 4 cock birds each. I didn't think we would find all of them because that pointer was not a great retriever, but she did her part and we recovered all of them. When it was over we looked at each other and said what the hell do we do the rest of the day.

10 years ago was a great time to be a pheasant hunter in Kansas. 4 bird limits, sitting in the hotel at 10am wondering what to do the rest of the day.

Glad to see you’re finding some birds. I’ve hunted pheasants in Kansas for over 30 years. It’s been a long time since I’ve shot a limit from one spot. Hard to believe all of the birds we used to see are gone. Planning to head that way in January. Hope you guys leave a few birds.

Hey that is spectacular! Congrats. I've taken triples twice but never a quad. How awesome would that be? Very.

Outstanding! I pulled a quad once with an unplugged autoloader and pheasants boiling up out of an old dairy barn foundation that was grown up with mares tails. Several triples over the years to my credit as well but I don’t see myself ever getting the chance to repeat the 4 way. No birds in my old stomping grounds in KS and a 3 bird limit where we hunt now in SD.

Agree completely!!!! However, since it originated in China, it most surely will be offensive to someone.
