There is a fancy place over west that makes hams. Helena Valley Ham. Damn thing costs more than a radiator for your feed pickup.


Tried one and couldn't see where the extra money went.

Just get a can of spam.
Soak it in some of that liquid smoke flavoring for a day

Get a grinder of that sea salt ( going fancy here)

Cover the entire thing with it.
Let it dry for a day.
Scrape salt crust off.


Enjoy..........


Slight Ham taste with dominant salt flavor and a hint of smoke.

Got it all fixed up purty.

All scraped out, deboned. Left the skin and fat ring on.

Will portion it in 3s and 4s slices per bag. Country ham, family breakfast on weekends for the next 4 or 5 weeks.


Hocks in bags too. Got a pound of great northerns soaking now for tomorrow. Oh yeah👍

The old folks used to say that the only part of a hog you couldn't eat was the squeal. Never tried hog jowl, and have no desire to, although it's supposed to be good if done right.
