wonder what all the "global warming" nuts will say if and when a grand cooling period begins and what will all these governments then require to be done to "correct" the issue. Stop all the wind turbines and crank up the coal plants?
A little warming is probably better for us, as humans, then cooling is.
Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.

Sunspots directly correlate with HF radio propagation conditions as well as climate conditions. I can tell you that the higher HF radio bands, which depend on sunspots, are the pits.
Years ago, I had the chance to operate from Taiwan for a few days, and had contacts with very nearly all the US states, operating on the 28 MHz band. Today, what do you hear? sssssssssssssss. Dropping down a few bands, 14 MHz, the most reliable long-haul band, is a shadow of its former self. Sometimes the most interesting thing on the band is ignition noise from passing cars.
Yes, humanity tends to prosper better when things a little on the warmer side. JMO, we are headed for a few decades of really unpleasant chilliness and crappy radio propagation. My only comfort is imagining Al Gore having to listen to Greta Thunberg while freezing their butts off together.

Regardless of where the weather goes, what the earth does for cooling or warming, climate change will be the catch and it will still be the fault of mankind, specifically, hard working, tax paying American men and women. And the climate change catch all will be the mechanism by which they impose ever more expensive measures, which will serve no purpose other than to line the pockets of corrupt politicians.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Solar minimum is here, the last one in 2008-2009 was a century class solar minimum, it was very inactive too.
