If you're looking for a set of fairly heavy weight cables these are pretty good.

I've used them a grand total of twice so no idea how durable they will be but initial impression is good.

They were fairly flexible yesterday morning at -15F and provided uber 'boost' when I went to spin over a cold blooded diesel pickup.
(power went out and or the timer went to hell on the extension cord for the block heater....)

I could do without the dummy light but whatever.

Not cheap, the cable, and the four clamps. Length is important, to reach, and the amperage loss.

I've had cheap cables that were ever so stiff in the cold.

I leave most of that sort of thing up to Jake.

Will it actually start a diesel pickup? Most of them say 6.0 or 6.5 when late diesels start at 6.7L and go up from there.

Those look good Sam and that price isn't bad if you've priced out heavy cable lately. I had a good heavy industrial like set for years that went south somewhere along the line. But, I'm not around equipment any mo so a chitty car set get me by as a JIC all right.

Let's get to the nitty gritty...how were the gloves and goggles that came with them... grin

Yep, made three sets out of welding cable many years ago, heavy but they work.

These things are the schitzle. If I didn't have an older little suit case style jump start/air compressor unit I'd be all over one of these new lithium jobbies

That set is better than my best. Got my best set at a gas station in Las Vegas. Some crack head needed gas money and sold me the cables out of his car for $10. He had some nice ass cables for whatever reason.

Me too! I have a set that came with an old truck I bought in the 70s. They were to only good thing that came out of the deal! They weight about 25 lbs, but they sure conduct the 12 volts.

Wow! What gauge is the wire on those clamps? I bet it gets warm at 2000 amps!

Same here. Keep a set like that in every vehicle. Short ones are worthless if ideal access isn't available for the jumping vehicle.

Thanks Sam. The most uber home made set I saw was in the AF. The were made from aircraft power cart DC cables (1200 amp each rated). That's what the motor pool wreckers carried.

Richard and Brian, I just priced a set of 1/0 gauge 25' welding lead and it was $149 for the cable, 4 good clamps would probably be another $50.

Ouch!

Tikka, we always have something running around the farm so I have never messed with anything like that.

Roger, they are a handy item!

Salty, these would be overkill for a gas engine but it really spun the ol' 6.0 Ford. I bet that thing had never started so fast even in the summer time......grin

Nemo, I was laughing my ass off when opened the package and found the gay little gloves. Didn't even know it came with those or the safety glasses. The safety glasses ended up by a bench grinder...

I can't remember the gauge I used, or where I bought it.

Copper has gone up, until you have scrap to sell.
