Sounds like a great anniversary gift haha. Congrats on 50!! A rarity these days.....

It's actually less than a new Browning BAR or a Ruger No 1.

That's a super nice offering! That is a class act of the current Savage owners to honor the classic Savage cartridges as well!

Wonder how soon it will sell out??

Many years ago Ruger made a run of Black Hawks called the Buckeye special. They were made for Buckeye Sporting Goods in Ohio. The first run was a convertible with a 32-20 cylinder and a 32 H&R Mag cylinder. Then a couple years later they offered the original purchasers a 45 ACP/45 Colt convertible, then a 38/9mm. It was a pretty cool set. They all had the same serial with an A,B,and C to differenciate each. If Savage did that and offered each of the 4 Savage cartridges, I'd buy all 4. It just helps if they let you know ahead of time.

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

Price isn't as high as I thought it'd be. Ifin' I'd get one it would be in 250 Savage, love that caliber, more adaptable for what I can and would use it for. 2nd choice 300 Savage, love it also. I'd shoot one if it were in my collection. Not a buyer of guns and let them be safe queens.

I'm seriously considering the 250 and if I do it will be hunted with as all guns should be.

Last summer at a local estate auction I scored one of the 32-20/32 H&R Mag versions, NIB. It went cheap. Nobody loves the 32-20 anymore...

I didn't know about the other versions. Thanks for feeding my addiction!

My guess and thought is because the 6.5 Creedmoor (along with all of the 6.5mm's such as the 6.5 Grendel) are the darlings of the firearm industry and gun magazine writers, not to mention those shooters wanting something bigger than a 5.56mm (.223), but smaller than the 7.62mm (.308). Not that anything is wrong with the 6.5mm's, but they seem to be the rage of the 'intermediate' rifle shooters wanting something more than the tried and true .243 Winchester and/or others in the .24/.25 calibers. They may/may not stick around, only time will tell. From what I've read about them, they have good ballistics, but for my purposes, I'm fine with the 5.56, 250 Savage, 300 Savage, and various 30/06's. The 5.56 and 250 Sav are the only ones I hunt with here in Iowa (coyote/fox) as bottleneck cartridges are a no-no for deer. Certain straightwall cases are allowed, with restrictions. I did read not long ago that the US military is looking at I believe the 6.5 Creedmoor (could be the Grendel) as a round for something heavier than the 5.56, but lighter than the 7.62 in certain fire systems, but not to replace the 5.56 in the M16/M4 rifles.

I bet if Savage re-intorduced the 250 Savage as the 250 Creedmore they could increase sales by 5x....

they might re-brand the 6.5 Cree and call it "260 Savage" ,...like they did with the "30 Sav", but I can't see them adopting any other name for the venerable 250-3000 (...but maybe a "5.6mm250-4000" with an 9-twist barrel and 40g pills)

Wouldn't a "5.6mm250-4000" be sort of like a 22-250?

Yes!

Or how about 22-4000 Creedmore?

The possibilities are endless.

Im not saying anything wrong with the 6.5 CM ....I have ine in a savage bolt action and shoots quarters at 100 yrds ................But to put in in an Commemorative Anniversary Model with a 250 ,300 savages then throw a 6.5 cm in the mix just seems odd

I agree the 6.5CM seems out of character for we curmudgeons, but I bet it sells. And you know the company is all about "bet it sells" especially to a younger crowd. Either way its a nice "Merry Christmas" from Savage Arms!

If you go on Graf and Sons they list 53 loadings for the 6.5 Creedmore. From 90 to 147 gr. Big with the long range shooters...and that is a $$$$ eating sport that is becoming very popular around here.

Got to cover your bases when the game is to make a profit. Most of the young ones don't know what a .250 or .300 Savage is.

Would be interesting to know the number sold per caliber when production is done.

Sounds like you picked a good year to buy that tractor. smile

I'll stick with buying the old 99's although the price on the 110 through Bub's is pretty good. I wonder if the wood on all is as nice as in the photo?

There’s a bunch listed on gunbroker for about same price as well. Better than the $1499 Savage was quoting.

Just doing a ruff count on GB (they list from 1 to 10+ in each posting) there are around 300+ available. I only saw 3 in .243 and none in .308. Most in .250 then .300 and 6.5CM.

It's a 125th Anniversary 110.. so only for the year 2019, and they were only going to make 1894 of them.

Given that it has been close to a years since marketed...are there few .243's and .308's because of low production numbers or because they sold out first and the others are the hard to sell leftovers? confused

I like that Savage did not put any gold on this rifle, like the 50th Anniversary 110 they produced in 2008.

I would love to have one just to look at but it is not in the budget right now, and in my limited experience is seems these commemorative rifles don’t hold their value any better than a standard model.
