Hey Doug,
What is the best 15x56 binocular on the market these days?
Thanks!
Chet

Chet That's subjective to what makes something "best" but I would say the Swarovski SLC & Meopta MeoStar are at the top

Thanks Doug! I guess I should say the best combination of optical performance, ruggedness and ability to be mounted on a tripod.

Chet, is that for them little Coues deer?
I’m sorta looking for a pair myself. Sometimes I think they’d be nice than my spotter for long looks.

Yes, Coues and mule deer in some of the places where I hunt them.

I use a the SLC HD and my brother in law uses the MeoStar/Cabelas Euro. I'd happily use either one, I don't notice much difference in the view.
Glassing with that type of binocular on a steady tripod, combined with some technique, allows for some great spotting. I found a shooter coues buck this Saturday, from just about a mile away. We snuck in to 300 yards, then with the 15's back on the tripod, I spotted as my dad shot the buck through the heart, watched blood pumping out as he ran down the hill. I'm very happy with the setup.
