I recently bought one of the China made Lodge ones from Walmart too.Damn thing is awesome.I use it all the time and it's so easy to clean.I noticed I cook at just a little lower heat because it retains heat so much better.

I have a Le Cruset......but I know I didn't pay $300 for it...... Or the 2nd ex wife would have ran off with it.......... I looked locally. I think it was right around $285. NFW, sez I! should be able to get one drop-shipped cheap through the Yukon by CP LOL. You realize I don’t live in Canuck-land. Right?

I got this one from Mom. I'm SURE it is Chinese made, but the price was right....free Works best as stated for any tomato based foods. Cleans up easy as well!

I have both Lodge and Le Creuset and use both. As far as the France vs. China thing, I have never had pans of any kind that heat as evenly as the Le Creuset does. YMMV, but for those that have cooked with both I doubt it. There is a difference that is very noticeable when it comes to low simmers and sticking to, or scorching the bottom of the pan. If done correctly you can buy some really nice new in box pieces of Le Creuset on eBay for almost half price. I have bought an oval roaster and a dutch oven for less than half price. They are ugly colors, but who cares??

an even heat test can be done with flour if you’re bored.
I got bored one time 😜. all my cast heats pretty even, some just take longer to get there. My griswold that was made sometime before 1920 is the quickest to get up to heat evenly. Griswold made enameled stuff as well, if you can find it not chipped up. It’ll run you as much or more than LC though.

Well this thread cost me, lots of dutch ovens but none in enamel. Until now, trying the lodge from wal-mart. Wifey picked it up so I did not have to get the eye bleach out.

Robster;
Is there a name on that pan?
Just wondering who made it?
My Wife decided "we" need one about that size also.
I see that Lodge makes one that is 3.6 quart. Maybe that's what yours is?
Looks like I'm going shopping again today. Might have to hold my breath and go back to wallfart.
I know my new six quart works darn good, even if it is Chinese made.

Went back to WallFart, and they didn't have the 3.6 quart Lodge pan I wanted.
I found it at another store in town, and brought it home. It's about 12" by 3" deep
A Lot more money that my 6 quart, had to give $90. For this one.
We cooked up some pork chops in it last night, to try it out.
They came out GREAT! And the clean up was easy. LOVE the enamel!

Vbshootinrange. The name on the back of the pan is technique Apparently it is made by Meyer cast iron. I saw an ad that they are sold on QVC and at Macy's

Thanks for the information, Robster, but I went ahead and bought another Lodge enamel pan.
This one has two handles, and the size is just right for cooking pork chops, etc.
It's about 12" wide X 3" deep
I'll bet you get lots of use out of yours!
GREAT addition to our cookware.

Happy cooking with the new addition!! Sounds like a great pan. I use mine whenever I cook tomato based meals. Spaghetti sauce, chili.....
I have way too much cast iron, but i cook exclusively with it so I use that as my excuse.
