So I bought one of the 243's from Whittaker's for $1150. As soon as I unboxed it, I noticed the barrel wasn't finish turned or "polished" to get the waves out of it. I thought I could live with it, and went ahead and mounted a scope. It didn't appear that the bore was uneven...just the outside finish on the barrel from the forend to the muzzle.
Didn't take me long to realize it wasn't right and I couldn't live with it and I had to send it back. So I called Barrett and talked to Devin. He sent me a prepaid label and I packed it up and sent it in. Devin said the barrel wasn't polished out like it should have been and they would take care of it. He said the bore was checked and it was fine. And he said that Chris Barrett looked at it personally before and after it was repaired. So I expect the quality control to be better in the future. LOL.
They had about 1-1/2 week turnaround. It was sent back to me FedEx overnight priority. I told him not to go to the expense of that and that I wasn't in a hurry to get it back, but Devin said that Chris told him to send it back that way. Got a couple of decals and a cap out of the deal, too.
Rifle is perfect now. Nothing had to be repaired that's in the bedding, so the bedding is still fine. Can't wait to shoot it.
Barrett is A+ Excellent to me. And I really appreciate them making it right.

I love CS/Warranty stories with happy endings. Nobody is perfect, and it says a lot about the company.

The Barrett family is a symbol of what the firearms industry could/should be. Defenders of the 2A too.

Very cool!
Here's to hoping they nail the .223 Field Craft.
Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

Super Chicken mounted and laser sighted and it's ready to measure throat and load up some 105 Amax's.

Good to read Barrett take CS and QC seriously.

That’s great and not surprising at all.
You forgot to mask your serial number and now it’s on Bristoe’s innanet. Haha

I picked up a Fieldcraft in 270 that also recently went in for service. It wouldn't reliably eject live cartridges. Dropped it off at The Outpost Armory which is a FFL right down the street from Barrett, pick it up from there.
Haven't taken it to the range yet but hope it's a good shooter.

Devin took good care of me too. Mine was a minor follower issue with a early Fieldcraft. He went beyond what was needed to make me happy.
