Wanted to get my old Savage 99 back in the woods but my eyes just don't work like they used to. Anyhow found that lightfoot made a scope mount that would not need any drilling and tapping. I purchased one and got her all rigged up. Have taken the gun on numerous trips this season without any success. Yesterday, finally a doe crept thru my little property (15 acres). The gun, the mount and the hunter performed flawlessly. I would like to thank Lightfoot for manufacturing a great little product. hope the picture loads
I was going to use the little thumbs up thingy but couldn't figure it out. So, don't know if you can see it or not, I'm holding a thumb up. This afternoon might be my last chance at a buck with my 303 F.

My heart's in the mountains, my heart is not here. My heart's in the mountains, chasing the deer.
I thought the same thing this deer season with my never hunted 99F .300 and had the same result that you did. DRT meat in the pot and no need to horse around boiling antlers.
My other auto is a .45
The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory
