In the market for a nice 22lr for practice/target shooting. These are the two that most interest me. Both offer lots of aftermarket support and I would imagine the bergara will be a hit with lots of support like Cz.

Vudoo not in the price range for what I’m looking to spend or it would be a no brainer

Between the two which and why?? Right now bergara has the lead just from the 700 clone aspect and I would imagine rebarrel/custom build in future using that action would be nice as well

Always loved Cz though and there are lots of parts/barrels available

Tikka I like

Extra cost with shortening and threading barrel and less aftermarket support though. Specifically aftermarket barrels and what not
This is strictly for shooting and wanting to try my hand with long range rimfire. I will be buying one when 16” comes available state side in 17 hmr though.

Cz would allow me to change between 22lr and 17hmr quite easily though. Big fan of 17 for plinking

CZ’s are fine enough rifles for sure.. I obviously haven’t shot the Bergera.22...
but you’ve stated long range as a plan and as such I’d find a nice used Anschutz 54. You’ll have no regrets and your shooting avenues will be wide open.

Really? What version of 457 was it?

Was it the Precision Trainer the OP was asking about?

Heck I can’t even find a bergara in stock. Calling and emailing with no luck so far. even if I wanted one doesn’t seem I would find one right now

If anyone knows of one in stock somewhere would greatly appreciate the help

Still not 100% sure it’s a better buy than the Cz though

You say Vudoo is a no-brainer, but out of your price range. I'd start saving up and get what you really want. 2 Vudoo's here and no regrets. They are my 2 favorite rifles.

Yea. More than I’m looking to spend since my wife and I are starting a home build right now, and just bought more property. Sold some guns recently and thought why not with the play money get a nice 22lr fun gun that I will use way more often than centerfire. I can now shoot rimfire right out back door of house essentially. If I change my mind I can buy the vudoo, but doubt she would find it as necessary as I do when 500k is flying out the windows right now. Lol

The vudoo is a serious competition rifle and no doubt worth the money, just not looking to drop 2500-3000 on a 22lr fun gun.

Still no opinion/answer as to Cz 457 precision or bergara ?

First off I am not into the long range type rifles, I much prefer a pretty wood stock. I have not shot the Tikka .22 or the Bergara .22 (own a B 14 Woodsman 6.5CM& love it). Do own a 457 American in 17HMR and love it. If I were to buy a new .22lr today, I would without hesitation get another 457. Tikkas feel plasticy and cheap to me and the Bergara mag is stupid, seriously doubt they are any more accurate than the CZ. I think to exceed the CZ you would need to go with Anschutz. Even then accuracy increase is minimal and not likely. For my money the CZ wins this contest easily.

For me I’m looking for more a precision trainer style rifle. I love my Cz 455 American. Not really wanting a wood stock, but if Anschutz which model. Remember not looking for a sporter model.

Truly want fiberglass or synthetic stock

Found out there is a NRL22 league not far from me also. May consider participating but my work schedule and 3 small kids may interfere with those plans. Mainly want to shoot for my own enjoyment.

Have multiple centerfire i shoot LR with, but would like to not have to drive to shoot 700-1000 when I can do 350 out my back door with rimfire. Can’t do centerfire as the wife’s grandmother wouldn’t allow that in her field but said 22lr okay as long as I put a berm up

Cut to the fhuqking chase,go Vudoo and never look back. Hint. Congratulations?!?

CZ's are schit. Tom's handle is a bonus, but not with a CZ in it. I'd rather S/S RAR in a Boyd's Tactical. CZ mags are epic pieces of fhuqking schit. Hint.

The Bergara is a poor copy, just like everything else they make. Initial "accuracy" reports and it altogether misses one of the Vudoo's greatest virtues, which is CRF and zero projectile deformation,to or from battery. Hint.

Annie makes some seriously great stuff, but in a well stocked synthetic Repeater, you are talking Vudoo money and Annie mags suck HORRIBLY in comparison. All Vudoo's ship with a topflight S/S aftermarket spout(I went Bartlein on both of mine) and S/S bank Vault receiver. Hint.

There's an 18" Bart' Kukri contour barreled action on The 'Hide now for $1500 Clams, rail and a magazine included. Nab it and if you have to lay up for the stock/M5 DBM...simply do so. I'd not linger. Hint

My Bart' Kukri 18" is in fact a WICKEDLY Amazing Bitch. S/S Shilen 2oz trigger,HEAVY filled MacaMillion Annie Sillywet,SWFA 5-20x,'horn rings, yada, yada, yada. I probably have a "few" Annie 54's too and Vudoo steals the show. Hint.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

Some others of the ilk...with my Baby Bart' Specter 18-incher up top,in a MacaMillion Classic(waiting on it's Old Glory version of same to arrive),S/S 2oz Shilen, yada, yada, yada. Hint.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

Baby Vudoo happier here. Hint.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

Don't fhuqking linger and simply cut to the chase. You will shoot it more than EVERYTHING else you have combined and be grateful at each opportunity,to drive such AMAZING Splendor.

You've been led to water.

Thank me later.

Stick. I’m considering the vudoo. Still not sure I need to swing that much money while building a new house and having just purchased more property. Maybe I should just do a barreled action and squirrel away cash for a stock and scope patiently. I know your right on the vudoo being way more rifle, and I would love to own one. Maybe sell some more crap I don’t use I guess and justify it that way.

Stick. If vudoo, which barrel profile? I use a suppressor so thinking 16.5-18” wouldn’t be slumming a thing. Not sure going 18” has any benefit other than aesthetics or balance. Also what you run ammo wise. Center x? Sk red box?

Mainly be used for range and possibly competitive shooting( fun shoots not anything too serious). I have plenty that shoot minute of squirrel head in the woods

Been using Google fu. Found jim cannon from LRSU testing a bergara. He is 22lrmarksman on Instagram. Groups not all that great with the ammo he was using. Could be ammo, or could be the gun just isn’t that accurate. Time will tell I guess.

The main thing to take away is he has a vudoo and the mags do not interchange between them. They fit but will not feed as a FYI.

In the Grand Scheme, the money is dick nothing. Simply roll with the good schit and never look back. Hint. Congratulations?!?

If a can was on the menu,I'd be in 16.5" Mode. Bang for the buck, the cited used Kukri poked in a Terrain,is a rather nice parcel. BT/DT. Hint.

Bottom most.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

The Bergara isn't going to be anywhere near the same book, let alone page. The Vudoo is FULL Custom from stem to stern, exceptionally well designed and executed. There's NOTHING to wish/hope/dream for,as it's simply turn-key excellence, from a totally incredible realm. The main thing to take away,is the Vudoo has no equal and the mags are fhuqking flawless. Though mag ride height,is sumptin' out of their control,in several chassis platforms(adjustable height mag catches are being introduced,by some of the chassis Manufacturer's). Hint.

CRF in 22LR is a Mind Fhuqk. hint.

Vudoo Feed/Function And Zero Distortion RINK

Ammo is a function of Logistics and everyone will have an easier route there, than I. Nothing is as fun as 600 and 700yd 22LR Adventures.

Hint.....................

Dammnn you stick. Sold some things I don’t need/use much anymore and I’m gonna put order in tomorrow I believe for a vudoo. If I order tomorrow they give 3 extra mags hat and shirt so why not

Thinking 16.5” kukri Bartlein( if they have that??) in the adjustable ridgeback stock woodland camo, straight flutes( maybe), sniper gray is how I will roll. Never used a chassis so doubt I go that way. 30 moa rail to get the most out of it. Trigger is the ? TT Diamond? What you think

Not sure scope wise what I’ll do but at first I’ll slap on the Burris s tac 3-16 just to get shooting, it’s sitting unused in the safe so why the hell not

Get some center x or something lapua/ sk on the way asap since the chamber is cut for that. Have a bunch of Norma tac and eley subsonic HP, plus cci standard and subsonic to try if need be.

Order placed. Thanks for persuading me to do the right thing stick. I don’t foresee me regretting anything here other than a lighter wallet for a couple weeks lol. wife said she wouldn’t divorce me for it so I’m not sleeping on the couch either!!!

Vudoo renegade with adjustable stock. Woodland camo although may go to Fosnaugh at some point for a custom paint job
.
Cobalt grey cerakote

Timney Calvin elite( run it on 2 other rifles so stayed with familiarity)

Barrel is 17” kukri rod iron fluted. Couldn’t help it. Looks way to good and they had one at 17” sitting there needing adoption. 17 good with me since it will have a dead air mask basically permanently attached to it

30 moa rail.

Today was last day to get 3 extra mags for a total of 4 ( also a shirt and hat but mags way more important) as part of a promotion.

3-4 weeks I’m told.

Now I have to order foam for the pelican case to make a custom case for it as I have one just sitting around without any foam in it. and order some lapua ammo or SK I guess

Scope is gonna have to be slummed with a sightron s tac until I regain my play/gun account to acceptable levels.

Well looks like the adjustable renegade was discontinued and they emailed me to let me know they had one left in desert camo and black with grey webbing. Went desert. Can always paint/cerakote to get desired color. Oh well. No big deal

Vudoo was a pleasure to deal with ordering the rifle. They make it easy on you

You're gonna love it Kevin! My Vudoo's are my favorite rifles...and easily the ones that are shot the most.

Also, you're fairly close to me and a new NRL22 match is starting on January 4th, just outside Johnson City. I'm curious if that's the match you mentioned or if there is another one close by that I haven't heard about?

There is one at oak ridge gun club nrl22. What’s the one outside Johnson city?? I’m just down in Maryville. Couple guys I work with have a egg shoot and LR rimfire match couple times a year. They aren’t too serious but the egg shoot starts at 150 yards and goes out in 25 yard increments until it’s over. They have some nice Anschutz rifles.

Typically they shoot steel to 350/375. I wouldn’t mind competing as far as having fun but I wouldn’t have time to try and compete seriously

Yea I’m curious which he is talking about. Maybe 2 hour drive for me which isn’t bad at all. Unfortunately won’t have my vudoo by 1/4/20 but shouldn’t be too long as they are well known to deliver quickly and not BS build time. Which is nice for a custom rifle.

Stick and roll tide, do you have any of the extended mag releases on your vudoo rifles? Necessary?

I went timney Calvin elite. 8 ounces should be light enough for me I would imagine. My Jewell at 1lb is very light and crisp so I assume I won’t be unhappy. Thought about TT diamond but have no experience there so not sure which to roll with.

Really looking forward to the vudoo. Glad stick talked me into it

My bud and I shot his Vudoo and compared it to his CZ 452 and the CZ gave the Vudoo a run for its money. If cost is a factor go CZ. Just my .02 worth.

I decided against going Cz because I would have most likely swapped barrels( lilja or shilen), went timney trigger, area 419 rail, and had to have pillar bedded to even start thinking about the accuracy I’m wanting. Ignition work may or may not be needed to get consistent accuracy. If money was a issue I would have definitely went Cz and built up over time.

could have found maybe a used DJDillon but that’s not cheap either. still would not have had a vudoo type build quality but would have been in the rifle for 1700$ or more. My Cz mags work fine but they do shave the bullet as it’s pushed into chamber I don’t truly love tinkering with rifles to get accuracy. I love shooting. The vudoo was a more sure fire way of getting that and I wasn’t in it for that much more.

I love my Cz rimfires that I have. They are accurate and have been very reliable. Just not the level I was wanting in the end.

The match is supposed to be in Limestone, but I don't know where it is.

My Ridgeback has the original magazine release, inside the trigger guard.

The JAllen one has their extended release and the All Composites one has All Composite's bottom metal, which has an extended release lever.

I prefer the original one, but all work. The All Composites model is going to get tweaked a bit though...it's tight and the magazines don't drop free.

As far as triggers go, all 3 of mine wear TriggerTech Diamonds at roughly 6 - 8 ounces...

There is a video on YT from Sep 2021. Two guys go target shooting (egg) from 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards.

One is shooting a Voodoo, the other guy has a 457 MTR.

You draw your own conclusion.

That's a well-done video.

I don't think a CZ is inferior in accuracy to anything out there, but I do believe you can take most quality rimfire rifles, with their chosen lot of ammo, and outshoot nearly any other rimfire that is shooting ammo it doesn't like.

At the end of the video, the Vudoo shooter is struggling to hit the targets using the CZ, so there is a lot to be said for the shooter's role as well.

The great thing about a CZ vs Bergara debate is that both rifles will shoot great...so you can choose the one that fits you the best, or has the better weight for what you're trying to accomplish.
