A friend's father had a cutter, yup, a one horse open sleigh, up in the rafters in a shed. I should ask my friend if he still has that. I doubt if the building is still standing.

Dashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh.............never saw one here, as it just doesn't snow enough for people to have had them.
Always thought it would cool to take a ride in the snow on one.

My mother's father had sleigh bells. They just disappeared.

I made this one.I copied the design from an old sleigh the neighbor had.His grandparents used it to go to town in the winter. Here is one I fashioned out of a two wheeled cart.

My mother's father had sleigh bells. They just disappeared. I have seen sleigh bells. They were on a leather strap about a foot and a half long... For such small bells, they could sure create some racket when you shook them...

That is beyond cool. I need to rebuilt a few things here. A seed corn grader for one.
