Finally got it all back together again. This is at least the 3rd rendition with this barrel, maybe 4th, I lost track.....
I've listed this gun/barreled action a couple times for sale, but refuse to let it go at a lowball price, it shoots too good.
So I decided to keep it, but wanted to lighten the load, time for a diet.
Took the 3.5-10x40 in Leupold QR rings & bases off, and replaced them with a 6x36 LRD in Talleys.
Sold the McMillan Classic that was on it, and replaced it with the same in a lighter version, now with fancy paint.
Weight loss was a RCH short of a pound, now at 7 lbs 4 ozs bare.

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

There’s no way you did that with just your penis.

After getting a close enough zero at 200, I moved back to 300.
Walking back to the bench & looking through the scope, I managed to set the target right inline with a bunch of thistles To make matters worse, the dot pretty much covered up the blue for my aiming point.
Drop chart show the 1st dot down is on at 310. I held the best I could & banged off three.

Walked down to the target, and moved it back to 400, and returned to the bench.
Mirage had picked up considerably, and now the dot completely covered the blue, and then some.
I had to hold off to the left to see the blue ring, then move the dot right until I figured I was centered somewhere in the middle of the blue & let 'er rip.

If you just put a S&B PM on there, you wouldn't have to practice.
Have similar rendition in a SR FN with 6x36. Not as good lookin', though. 7# is not hard to like. Of course, I can't hit anything with it.
Good shooting & pics aalf,

OOOOoooooh, do the scope and rings too! The only way to guarantee that Leupold fails would be to paint it.

Good looking rifle and great shooting. Maybe I missed it, what cartridge is it chambered for?

aalf, just to clarify for my fell purposes....with that load, dot one is ~ 300 & dot two is ~ 400? For all practical purposes, yes. Leupold specs say with a 200 zero, dots are at..... 200 - 0 300 - 2.19" MOA 400 - 4.80" MOA Top of the picket - 7.82" MOA My load, according to JBM, puts the dots at 310, 415, and 530. Pretty tough at distance for exact holds when you're aiming with a basketball.......
