I have an 1965 era Ithaca model 37 12g featherweight shotgun.
Plain jane model, ribbed forearm, no checkering on buttstock, plastic buttplate etc.
30" plain barrel full choke
Extra 28" plain barrel mod choke
Both barrels have the reddish plastic front sight

Condition is very good to excellent with minimal handling mark on stock. Bluing is excellent.

I was thinking of asking $400 for the package.

Am I in the ballpark?

Thanks!

Prices for 37s vary widely. For some reason they were never really popular here. I rarely see another in the field when I am out with mine. I am left handed and have been using 37s since the mid=1960s. I saw one that looked like the one you describe in a pawn shop last week priced at $400, but it only had one barrel and the finish was worn heavily. My son bought a nice 20 gauge with plain barrel for $300 a couple of years back. The last one I bought was a pawn shop rescue in 16 gauge that came with a left hand safety already installed, but the buttstock had the crack where it meets the receiver. I paid $235 OTD for it 8 years ago.

As LeonHitchcox says, the prices can vary. I bought a bicentennial a few years ago in very good condition for 600, then turned around and bought a 1957 solid rib in excellent condition for 250 earlier this year.

For one as you describe I would be hard pressed to give more than 300 in my area.

for the east coast and NE, I think $400 is a good selling price. the extra barrel could easily bring close to $200 if the right buyer came along. I have one in 16 ga, I am almost a full "sub gauge man" these days.

From a Mid-west perspective, $400 would be a good price for a two barrel set in good condition. I'm not sure of the date but prior to some point in time the barrels had to be hand fitted to a specific action so, a second barrel would be even more valuable and uncommon on earlier guns. Good luck with your sale.

$400 is in the ballpark depending on condition. Shooter grade about right, excellent plus plus maybe $500-$550

Back in 2012 I bought a very clean, looked new 37 Featherweight, 12 ga. from a friend in North Carolina for his asking price of $225.
SN dated to 1962., nice wood, vent rib barrel.
I see them today around here for $350-$500, with smaller gauges bring more.
I'm a lefty, and it the perfect shotgun for us Southpaws.

You are pretty close. People don't generally want plain barrels but that is a non issue for real hunters.
