When my brother was a teeny bopper in the 1960s, he got a Remington 510 for $7.
It had a sawed off butt.
When he was a teen ager in 1971, he learned to TIG weld and made a rear peep sight for it.
With that rifle I could hit the nail holding the target at 100 feet. [Back then with my young eyes].
We killed many animals and birds.
Decades later in 2001, we were old men. I glued a piece of Walnut on the butt. We started buying Rem 510, 511, 512, 572, 552, ect rifles at gun shows.
We went to dozens of gun shows and got dozens of old Remington 22s.
We were trying to relive being young with that first Remington 22.
