I know I am crazy for considering it, but any ideas on a price for a mint Remington 7600 Carbine in .35 Rem? Best I can tell, roughly 300 were manufactured in 2003, but I haven't been able to find really any that have actually sold online.

Any guesses?

Jason, I used to have one...kind of unusual with an oil finish. Perhaps it is the same special edition as yours?

Yes, matte bluing with wood stocks.

I can't say for a 7600, but I purchased a 760 several years ago from Sako76 on here. A 1979 vintage rifle according to the date code and the gun appears unfired, not a scratch or mark on it. I paid either $600 or $650, I really don't remember, and felt it was worth the money. 760's and 7600's in .35 Remington are pretty rare and don't come up for sale to often. I saw a 760 at Cabelas in Maine about 5/6 years ago in .35 Remington on their used gun rack, and a blind man could see that it had been used hard, and they were asking $500 for it.

I suggest you look on Gunbroker and search using the "completed" option for guns that actually sold, that will give you a better idea of what people are willing to pay.

My advice to you though is to keep the gun if it is as pristine as you say. I think you will regret selling it further down the road, and if you keep it, it will only go up in value.

PS Somehow I missed the "carbine", worth even more !!!!! I don't know about the 7600's but I do know that for the 760's, from the time they made their debut in 1952 till 1980 when they switched to the Model 6, only 454 760 carbines were produced in .35 Remington.

I also have a 760 in .35, although its not a carbine...I don't think they bring quite as much as the 7600 Carbines, simply due to the numbers.

This gun will bring a pretty penny in PENN

I have no good reference now.
I had two and sold one here probably 6+ years ago. I'd say that I wish I had it back, but I know it has a good home.

I won't part with the one I have left.

Remington flooded the market in I think 1985 with the 760 in 35 Remingtons, I got like 20 off Ron Shirk in Lebanon, Pa as they were dirt cheap, but that was 30+ years ago.

couldnt find out what I paid for them, or remember, but sold them for $199.00 and it was the last year of production for the 760, 1987

I'd suggest you post it a what you consider a high price then every couple of days drop the price a little until it sells.

Pics will aid the sale tremendously.


I recently saw a minty .30-06 locally go for $459 but they made those by the semi load!!

That rifle is pretty durn rare.

Right now.... probably a bit soft. 35 Whelen carbines were available for under $700 all day... probably still able to be found. You'd need a Remington collector to really want it.


At the end of the day the market is very limited..to most guys, it's not worth much. And there aren't a ton of collectors out there.

I'd definitely say it's worth north of $500 in very clean condition....how much north? Hard to say. Guys like me drive up the value though...I have a few "rare" 7600s and all of them see the woods regularly lol. I'm a hunter..not a gun collector.

If it were mine I would say trade value would be at least $850 since a new one in the common '06 goes in the $700 range.

grice in clearfield did at least one limited run of 300 as you said. i have one i bought NIB in mid-2000's for 500 bucks. it is called the "Meatmaster" in my house. Men covet it and deer fear it. i see them once in a rare while on gunbroker and they have all sold for north of 1000 bucks. i would value it at 1500 bucks minimum. the market is not soft for the rare rem pump carbines.

i have already done the "last gun" scenario in my head and it is next to last before my dads 141.

This is right on for gunbroker values.

I usually go wholesale price for value on both guns, assuming equally great condition, if you think yours is substantially more valuable sell it and buy my gun for cash.

I've seen a couple Grice matte/synth ones and one walnut/polished blue.
The Grice used were 900 and up. Unfired add 10 or more %.
The polished blued was at 1200 a yr or so back and it didn't last long.
I found out about it too late, was within 50 miles of me

Paid 500 for a worn 760 old style. But it shoots great and I don't worry about dinging it up.
Pick up a pretty decent 141 this Friday.

I'd like a 7600 though.

.35 rem............kicks like a low brass 20 ga, and hammers deer dead.
Inside of 150 yards I'd call it ideal, esp in a magic wand Remington pump.

It's Deer Season here in Pa. Two days ago I took a 316 Yard. Shoot with mine using Hornady 200 gr. FXT's and dropped a 160 lb. 5 point on one side(The other was broke off!) in his tracks holding the sight on his spine. Destroyed both lungs!

I would value my Grice 7600 35 rem around 1500.00 but wouldn't sell mine for twice that.

I also have the 760 in 35 rem. but have retired it sense I have this carbine.
