When the daughter's family arrives we are going to the candlelight service at seven. Then back here for soup.

My Mom, the two oldest kids, and my Father in Law went to church a few minuets ago.
Wife is busy cooking, Bean is watching Road Runner and I just got done sewing up a leather pliers sheath. (wife's Christmas present)

Just got home from church with wife, son DIL and two grand daughters, 3 and 6 years old.
Son is gourmet cook. I’m working on second glass of Cabernet, while he cooks.

Services were 330 and 530. Ended up being too late to get to the 530

My heathen, non-believing ass would be in a church pew right now, but I am on call this week for work so I am stuck at home.
In the community where my girlfriend was raised there is an old country church 5 miles down a gravel road, in the middle of nowhere Kansas, where a town used to be. The town is gone - not even shown on the map - but a church building remains and is maintained by the community and they have a Christmas Eve service there every year.
Sharon is there right now, playing piano for the service. I’ve been there the past 9 years, I think.
I miss it.

Did that a lot in the 60s. One midnight mass stands out. Mom and dad and us kids were exiting church at 1:00 am. Was icy, mom slipped, fell and broke an ankle. That made for a much longer night. That would have been early 60s.

Yes, the 5:00 pm service. Our young pastor, 37, performed 7 identical services with 5:00 pm being the final one. He must be exhausted. Music and message were wonderful.
